Subsequently the buildings are razed, then re-conveyed to selected developers. This agenda creates better housing conditions for residents morally and economically. The process may provide housing for multiple residents. Many cities link the revitalization of the central business district and it’s residential neighborhoods to be a very important part to keeping the city vibrant and alive. Hamilton buildings and the escarpment
New city rules say high-rise buildings downtown can’t be any taller than the Niagara Escarpment. City council has made the escarpment the limit in terms of building heights. That means at the lowest elevations designated for taller buildings, high-rises can only be about 30 stories tall.
Limiting buildings to escarpment height keeps lake views intact. When you look at the current buildings that define the City of Hamilton skyline, the tallest buildings are all from the 1970s and 1980s. Many citizens devoted to progressive urban development feel the city should consider tall building applications on a case-by-case basis, however, this remains to be seen.
